About JTC

The Jamaica Teaching Council (JTC) was established as a part of the education transformation strategy to improve the quality and coverage of education nationwide.  Its fundamental purpose is to professionalize the teaching profession. The Council advocates for the teaching profession, and its ultimate goal is for the teaching to become the profession of choice.

In 2012, an Advisory Body was established to advise the Honourable Minister of Education on the continued evolution of the Council.

Return to Happiness – December 15, 2020

Thank you for your interest in joining a Return to Happiness Support Group.  We are currently at maximum capacity for the January 23 – March 12, 2021 session. The next round of sessions is scheduled for March 15, 2021 – April 23, 2021, and registration opens on the JTC website on February 05, 2021.

We recognize the many and varying challenges during this global pandemic and our Return to Happiness Webinar for Teachers offers options for accessing psychosocial care.
